Blair Lose Out at Alloa

Saturday 17 Mar 12, the Blairgowrie senior squad travelled to Alloa for their penultimate RBS Midlands League Division II game of the season. Having lost to Alloa at the J J Coupar Park earlier in the season this was always going to be a stiff test for Blairgowrie and so it transpired with the home side scoring 4 tries in the first half hour of the match. With the first half drawing to a close Blairgowrie scored through Michael Black with Stephen Souter converting to make the half time score Alloa 22 Blairgowrie 7.
Blairgowrie raised their game in the second half with coach Alan Webster collecting a quick line out ball to score near the corner with Stephen Souter successfully kicking two penalties to take his team to within four points of the home side and looking as if they may secure a losing bonus point. With the game drawing to a close Alloa scored their fifth try of the game to make the final score Alloa 29 Blairgowrie 18.

Team: Timmy Watson, Alan Webster, Ewan Constable, Stewart Flatley, Mark redden, Mike Lee, Russell Edward, David Grieve, Gavin Wynd, Stephen Souter, Fraser Maxwell, Michael Black, Liam McLaren, Craig Thoms, John Cockburn, Jake Cockburn, Stevie Stewart.
