Teams were made up of 6 players a side and the Rams did not have the luxury of substitutes for any of their games, There was a great display from all players , Parents and coaches watched a well gelled team take to the field with Excellent passing, tackling and team work from everyone of the squad. First game against Arbroath saw great passages of play and the Rams won 4/2 with tries from Fergus Barron (1), Ben Robertson(2) and Bruce Campbell(1).
Next up were Montrose and again the Rams showed great commitment to tackles, communication and passing. The Rams won 4/2 with tries from Fergus Barron (2) Callum Dawson (1) with a great strong run from half way and Ben Robertson (1) with a charge that started from the Rams try line.
Conditions underfoot were getting worse and with the team having to wait they all began to feel the cold, however an entertaining fixture against Carnoustie soon warmed up the squad and the support. with Bruce Campbell scoring a hat trick Rams won 3/2
The Rams next encounter was against Glenrothes and this was a great display from all, great tackling, passing and team work with all the squadscontributing to a 5/0 win. Bruce Campbell (2) Fergus Barron (2) and Callum Dawson (1)
With all 4 games won, the Rams were finally to play Panmure who had also won all of their games, this game deciding the tournament winners. It was decided to play on the muddier of the 2 pitches and unfortunately, this combined with the cold ,and tired legs proved perhaps one game to far for the brave youngsters who played their hearts out but were well beaten by a well drilled Panmure squad.
The coaches would like to again thank each of the squad for their effort and detemination and also parents and support who travelled early on a cold wet Sunday to encouarge the boys. Well done and thanks to all
